This adorable family of fan tailed birdies is created from copper sheet with china fragment wings and silver and gold leaf tails. They all perch up in their own tree of copper and brass with glass bead blossoms, coated in crystalline verdigris and assembled on a piece of vintage tea plate. The assemblage is mounted and signed on acid free off white card in a cream contemporary style open grain wooden box frame, 330mm x 330mm.
My Grannie used to have one of those framed parchment pictures of our family tree where you filled in the spaces with names of long lost relatives with strange and old fashioned names, I always had a fascination with it and this is my own interpretation.
